Mr. Bentley

Bentley is our 9 month old boxer. He is quite a handful but he is very fun and has a great personality! There is actually kind of an interesting story behind him...I'd like to think he is a miracle dog haha Here's why...Garrett and I had adopted a pitbull terrier from the Humane Society in June. We named her Kierra and had her for about a month before she died. She had distemper which we didn't know until after a couple weeks of having her. She was very sweet and it was really hard to see her go. We buried her in our yard and occasionally I would go visit her grave :( It was sad but I knew she was in a better place. Well, we had to wait a month before we could get another dog because the disease that Kierra had lingers and your whole house needs to be disinfected first. So we had waited a month and we would check the paper everyday for ads for boxers and there were never any. Well, one night I had a dream that there was an ad for 4 week old boxers for sale. So that morning I woke up and the first thing I said to Garrett was "We need to go buy a paper and check the ads!" I told him about my dream and sure enough when we went to get a paper and there was an ad for 4 week old boxer puppies! We immediately got dressed, took out some cash and headed to pick out a puppy. And that's how we got Bentley! He's been an awesome dog and I wouldn't trade him for another! :)

Aunt Sheridan

In the beginning of January I became an aunt to the CUTEST little guy ever...Titan Colby. I remember feeling so anxious and excited while waiting at the hospital. We were all there and Lauren had said that I could stay in the room and watch her give birth along with my mom. Well, when the OBGYN came in she told us that only one of us could stay so of course my mom got to stay...I'm still bitter about that to this very day! HaHa Not reallly but I do think it would've been neat to watch. My dad and I waited outside with our ears pressed up close against the door. When we finally heard a cry my dad opened the door to see the baby. He was so small and he had a cone head. But of course when I walked in there and saw Derek holding him I said "Oh my gosh! He's soooo cute!" HaHa I think that is just most people's reaction even though he looked some what like an alien...No offense Lar! :) Having him around is a lot of fun and I love being able to finally call myself an aunt now. I'm so excited and proud of my sister and her husband! Now I have baby fever really bad...Uh oh! HaHa. One of these days I will have one of my own :) I love my little nephew!

We wish you a Merry Christmas

We spent Christmas at my parents house this year which was really nice. We were all here and we got to spend a lot of time together. Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday. There is something about the feeling in the air and the spirit that it present that just lifts me up. I love it! On Christmas Eve we all got together and spent the night at my parents. I felt like a little kid all over again but it brought back some fun childhood memories. That night we all gathered around the fireplace and had a spiritual devotional where we each shared a spiritual thought and shared our love for the gospel and our testimonies. We had a friend of Jordan's and my mom's over that night too. Her name is Lily Hargrove...weird, huh? No, we aren't related. She is a very sweet lady who is about 50 some years old. She just fits in like she's one of the family. We love having her around! She shared her thoughts to us about Christmas and she was very open minded about what we believe and how we celebrate Christ's birth. It is so nice to be able to share what you believe with those who don't have the knowledge that we have about life and Christ. We are still working on her and hopefully something will come of it! Christmas morning we all opened our presents then made breakfast and shared what we all got and played games and just spent quality time together. It was a great Christmas! I'm so grateful for the church and the knowledge I have about it and for the love that my father in heaven has for me. I love that at Christmas we can really take time to reflect on Christ and all he has done for us. Merry CHRISTmas.

Life on the Ranch

Garrett works for the Girl Scouts...don't judge him. But, it has actually been a pretty cool gig. His cousin worked for them but then went to play for the Dallas cowboys so we took over the job. We live in Sunland Park, New Mexico on the Girl Scout Ranch. We have a nice little trailer there which has two bedrooms and two baths. We have a nice size kitchen with an island and a roomy family room. It is a little spooky out there because we are isolated but it's nice not having to deal with annoying neighbors :) I have heard some crappy stories of apartment living. We have lived there for about 10 months now and have really enjoyed our time there. He is tired of the job but you can't beat free rent!
I work for Westside Endodontic Associates as a receptionist. It has been a good job for me. I only work 25 hours a week so the rest of the time I am able to hang out with my mom and my sister and my new little nephew, Titan. It has been a huge blessing to live so close to my family and be able to see them about 4 times a week. It sure has been fun!

Nice to meet you...

I'm going to tell you all about how me and Garrett met. Some of you may already know but me and my sister married brothers. Most people think it's pretty cool but others just think it's weird. Me, I'm with the ones who think it's pretty cool! It all started when the summer after I graduated, I moved to Utah with my sister, Lauren. I was really excited to go because I was sick of El Paso(if you can believe that...ha ha). So, we packed up and headed out. We arrived in Utah in June of 2008. Lauren was already dating Derek and one day they decided that him and I should meet. So, we did. Garrett asked me on a date and of course, I said yes. We went to this place called Nickel Arcade. And to this day I can still remember what I was wearing, which is kind of weird because my memory is terrible. But anyway, we went and played games at Nickel Arcade and then went back to his house to watch a movie. I had a lot of fun but I had just moved to Utah and wasn't ready to have a steady boyfriend so when Garrett asked me to be his girlfriend, I said no... :( Well, he was upset and we quit talking for a couple months while I continued to date other people where I would later find out that they weren't worth my time. I decided to text Garrett one day out of the blue to see if he would like to hang out again. At first he was a little hesitant but he later agreed. After that second date, we were pretty much inseparable. After a few months, Garrett told me that he loved me and we decided that we wanted to get married. So, in December we both packed up and headed to El Paso. Garrett got a little apartment and I moved back in with my parents and in May of 2009 we tied the knot for time and all eternity in the Albuquerque, New Mexico temple. I love Garrett so much and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him! We are soo in love and couldn't be happier. I'm so glad my sister introduced us! I have been blessed...
